My name is Allan. I'm 24 years old. I was born and raised in Queensland, Australia. Both my parents are Filipinos.
The first time i went to the Philippines i was only a year old. So i don't remember anything from that trip. The only things i have from that trip are two photos that were taken from that time, and stories from my relatives.
Growing up in Australia was good for me, but there was always that yearning of wanting to know where my parents were born. And what my true culture was like. Fast forward to 2007, 19 years old, I went on a family trip to the Philippines.
I was blown away, I loved the Philippines, the people were welcoming, the food was fantastic, and i just had so much fun. A year later, I decided to move here and experience my culture first hand. It was an experience i would never forget.
It's now 2012, roughly 5 years from that life changing vacation, I'm a dual citizen now. And I've decided to start a blog about my experiences, and also show the world what the Philippines has to offer. And hopefully someone out there will read it and visit our lovely country.
